The Burgess Optical ROOC^TM, or Red Oak Observing Chair, is a light, compact, fully adjustable seat.

The ROOC is hinged at the top and the front leg has a series of evenly spaced rungs. The seat height is set by hooking the seat onto one of the rungs. Before sitting on the seat, ensure that the seat is securely attached to the rungs and that the side latches are fully extended and locked in position.

The ROOC should not be left out in the SUN or the RAIN. Doing so for extensive periods will damage the finish and possible result in warping the wood. We recommend drying the ROOC after a dewy night.

The picture below shows how compact the ROOC is when it is folded. The seat is hooked to the top rung, which is the hinge for the pair of legs. A hook and loop fastener strip attached to the seat bottom is looped around one of the rungs to secure the seat when folded. Because the ROOC folds so flat, when opening the ROOC, ensure that the side latches do not bind.
